CMG Technologies showcases MIM capability to Smiths Detection

CMG Technologies was delighted to be offered an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of its advanced Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) process to Smiths Detection engineers at a recent road show at the company’s UK headquarters.

Smiths Detection, an international operation and part of the UK-based global technology business Smiths Group, provides a range of ‘advanced technologies that identify constantly evolving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) threats.’

CMG has already provided MIM manufactured parts for Smiths Detection, but as a large organisation it was keen to highlight the potential cost and lead time savings that can be achieved by using MIM to other team members tasked with procuring goods and services.

Smiths issued an invite to all employees on site and the roadshow received a very good response, as CMG Technologies’ Sales and Marketing Director, Rachel Garrett, elaborates: “We had about 10 different engineers come to visit us to find out more about how the process works and the benefits it brings. Some had potential projects in mind whilst for others it was more of an educational visit.

“Overall the day was very successful and we’re looking forward to developing our relationship with Smiths Detection on future projects.”
